Thanks to the support of a grant from the Cape Cod Five Foundation, a very generous anonymous donor, and our wonderful community, we raised the funds to make a wakeless safety launch a reality, ensuring our rowers' safety and also providing a resource that we can make available to the Town of Harwich in emergencies.
The new boat -- a Stillwater Duo 18-foot launch with a 20 hp Suzuki motor, trailer -- now accompanies our rowers on the water, providing a safe, efficient platform for assisting and rescuing rowers, safer operations for coaches, and producing significantly less wake than a metal jon boat. This greatly allows people of all capabilities to be removed from the water safely, dramatically improving our capacity to help people in need.
